Abstract

Método de mejorar la producción de cosechas vegetales, mediante la lucha contra el crecimiento de malezas en el medio en que crecen dichas plantas, caracterizado porque comprende las etapas de: (1) cargar un dispositivo de diseminación mecánica con una composición herbicida que contiene (a) un éter de difenilo substituido como ingrediente herbicida activo y (b) un vehículo agrícolamente aceptable para el ingrediente activo y (2) utilizar el dispositivo de diseminación mecánica para aplicar una cantidad herbecidamente eficaz de la composición herbicida como gránulos, polvo fino o pulverización líquida a (a) el medio de crecimiento antes del brotado de las malezas en el mismo o (b) a las plántulas de las maletas en el medio de crecimiento, por lo que se combate selectivamente el crecimiento de las malezas, siendo el éter de díñenlo substituido un compuesto de la fórmula **(Fórmula)** en la cual X es hidrógeno, halógeno, trihalometilo, alquilo (C1-C4) o ciano, Y es halógeno, trihalometilo o, excepto en el caso de que X sea cloro, hidrógeno y Z es hidrógeno.
