Abstract

Método continuo y aparato correspondiente para purificar agua con el objeto de aglomerar sólidos de tamaño coloidal o superior, en suspensión en un liquido, estando dicho método caracterizado porque consiste en: utilizar por lo menos un par de electrodos metálicos que tienen sus zonas superficiales enfrentadas separadas por una distancia sustancialmente reducida la una respecto a la otra; hacer que dicho liquido circule continuamente entre las superficies enfrentadas de dichos electrodos separados; aplicar una tensión de corriente alterna a una frecuencia incluida aproximadamente entre 0,2 hz y 800 hz entre dichos electrodos; controlar dicha tensión de corriente alterna con relacion a la separación entre dichas zonas superficiales de los electrodos y la conductividad de dicho líquido para obtener una circulación de corriente eléctrica alterna entre dichas superficies de los electrodos, estando el valor de dicha corriente alterna incluido entre aproximadamente 0,012 y 0,96 amperios/cm2 (0,08 y 6,0 amperios/ pulgada2) de superficie de electrodo; asegurar la agitación de dicho liquido obtenida mediante la circulación del fluido con el objeto de crear una turbulencia que tiene un número de reynolds de por lo menos 10,000 aproximadamente en dicho líquido mientras este circula entre las superficies enfrentadas separadas de dichos electrodos.
