Abstract

An improved apparatus for storing and transporting anaerobic biological liquids, comprising: liquid receiving means for receiving and containing an anaerobic liquid; gas generator container means, having an autonomous gas generator for generating at least one reducing gas; means and conduit for supplying gas from the gas generator to the liquid receiving means; conduit means for the gas to exit the receiving means without liquid flowing therefrom; and a catalyst that favors the reaction between the reducing gas, when it is produced by the generator, and the oxygen in, from or around the apparatus to thereby produce an anaerobic environment or medium in contact with a liquid located in the liquid receiving means. .
