Abstract

Un método de preparación de una composición de relleno para uso como relleno en un reactor de descomposición de amalgama de sodio-mercurio, que comprende mezclar partículas de una composición de amalgama de sodio-mercurio, que comprende mezclar partículas de una composición tensioactiva seleccionada del grupo que consta de hierro, cobalto, níquel, grafito, molibdeno y vanadio, y sus mezclas, con partículas de una resina capaz de ser curada a un estado térmicamente estable, calentar dicha mezcla para curar dicha resina para que forme una matriz polímera que tiene partículas discretas de dicha composición tensioactiva dispersadas en ellas, y transformar la mezcla curada resultante en gránulos que tienen un diámetro medio en el intervalo de alrededor de 6 a alrededor de 70 milímetros.
