Abstract

An apparatus for oxidizing coke on spent catalyst, comprising, in combination: (a) a spent catalyst receiving chamber for containing a dense phase fluidized bed of catalyst, said chamber having upper and lower sections, a gas inlet means of new regeneration connected with said chamber in said lower section, to allow the entry of fresh regeneration gas, spent catalyst inlet means connected with said chamber to allow the entrance of spent catalyst to said chamber, and means of regenerated catalyst/regeneration gas, (b) a transfer line located above said exhausted catalyst receiving chamber, and having a substantially vertical part and a substantially horizontal part in interconnection with said vertical part, (c) internal recirculating means of regenerated catalyst, which have a means of entering in the transfer line and exit means in the spent catalyst receiving chamber, to allow a portion of the regenerated catalyst to pass from the transfer line to the spent catalyst receiving chamber and (d) a regenerated catalyst receiving chamber to contain a dense phase bed of regenerated catalyst.
