Abstract
Un procedimiento para preparar una mezcla de ácido-2-cetugulónico de la fórmula **fórmula** o de un éster alquílico de C1-4 o de una sal de metal alcalino, de metal alcalinotérreo, de amonio o de tetraalquil-(C1-4)-amonio del mismo, y 2-cetogluconato de la fórmula**fórmula** o un éster alquílico de C1-4 o una sal de metal alcalino, de metal alcalinotérreo, de amonio o de tetraalquil (C1-4)-amonio del mismo, cuyo procedimiento comprende reducir ácido 2,5- dicetoglucónico de la fórmula **fórmula ** o un éster alquílico de C1-4 o una sal de metal alcalino, de metal alcalinotérreo, de amonio o de tetraalquil (C1-4)-amonio del mismo, por reacción con un borohidruro de metal alcalino, efectuándose la reacción mediante la utilización de aproximadamente 0,8 a 1,1 equivalentes por mol de un borohidruro de metal alcalino en solución, a un pH mayor que 5 y a una temperatura comprendida entre aproximadamente -30ºC y 50ºC.A process for preparing a mixture of 2-cetugulonic acid of the formula **formula** or of a C1-4 alkyl ester or of an alkali metal, alkaline earth metal, ammonium or tetraalkyl-(C1- 4)-ammonium thereof, and 2-ketogluconate of the formula**formula** or a C1-4 alkyl ester or an alkali metal, alkaline earth metal, ammonium or tetra(C1-4)alkyl ammonium salt thereof, which process comprises reducing 2,5-diketogluconic acid of the formula **formula ** or a C1-4 alkyl ester or an alkali metal, alkaline earth metal, ammonium or tetraalkyl (C1-4) salt -ammonium thereof, by reaction with an alkali metal borohydride, the reaction being effected by using about 0.8 to 1.1 equivalents per mole of an alkali metal borohydride in solution, at a pH greater than 5 and at a temperature between about -30°C and 50°C.
