Abstract

Procedimiento para la obtención de metilolmelaminas, eterizadas con metanol, ampliamente monómeras, que por mol de melamina contienen más de 5 moles de formaldehído y más de 4 moles de grupos metilol eterados con metilo, y que con un contenido en sólidos de como mínimo un 95% a 25ºC poseen una viscosidad inferior a 10 Pa.s, caracterizado porque melamina y formaldehído se hacen reaccionar en proporción molar 1 : 6,2 hasta 1 : 8 en presencia de un catalizador básico en una mezcla de reacción que contiene un 10 hasta 40% en peso de agua y un 40 hasta 20% en peso de metanol, a temperaturas de 40 hasta 60ºC a una suspensión de metilolmelamina y, a continuación, en presencia de un total de 15 ¿ 30 moles de metanol por mol de melamina se eteriza a temperaturas de 25 hasta 50ºC en presencia de un ácido fuerte.
