LA ETAPA DE INICIACION SE REALIZA MEDIANTE UN FORMADOR DE RADICALES COMO LOS PEROXIDOS, PERESTERES O AZOCOMPUESTOS Y ESPECIFICAMENTE EN ESTE CASO EL 2,2" AZOBISISOBUTIRONNITRILO. SE PREPARA UN PREPOLIMERO SIRUPOSO Y SE TERMINA LA POLIMERIZACION EN RECIPIENTES FORMADOS POR DOS PLACAS DE VIDRIO CON SEPARADORES DE CORCHO RECUBIERTOS CON CINTA DE TEFLON O SEPARADORES DE POLICLORURO DE VINILO. LA TEMPERATURA DE POLIMERIZACION ES DE 50+- 2 GRADOS C Y EL TIEMPO DE REACCION VARIA CON LA COMPOSICION DE LA MEZCLA HASTA UN MAXIMO DE OCHO HORAS. POSTERIORMENTE, EL PRODUCTO PUEDE SOMETERSE A UN SOBRECALENTAMIENTO DE 80-90 GRADOS C DURANTE HORAS PARA ASEGURAR EL PERFECTO CURADO DEL COPOLIMERO. EL PRODUCTO ES UTILIZADO DE FORMA ANALOGA AL POLIMETACRILATO DE METILO.
