Abstract

The clutch plate is partic. of the driven type, having a holder with recesses accommodating removable linings. Each lining assembly (15) comprises two friction sections (21) spaced apart, with a rigid support (16) and a layer of elastic buffer material (19). The support edges engage by friction with the holder. The elastic material can consist of a mat of elastic fibre, typically fine metal wire, and there can be a layer of it between the support and each friction section. Alternatively there can be a single elastic layer between two supports, each of the latter secured directly to a friction section.
