Abstract
Method of manufacturing magnetic heads with multiple air gaps for writing, reading and erasing, composed of a plurality of unitary magnetic heads, according to a coupling in superposition, each of which is constituted on the one hand, by a magnetic circuit in the form of a ring, which carries a front part, or active face, provided with an air gap perpendicular to the plane thereof, and a rear part or armature, and, on the other hand, by windings, each circuit having its plane parallel to the others and being geometrically separated of them by intercalary elements, process characterized in that it comprises the following steps: manufacture of parallelepiped, in a block of material comprising, at least, a non-magnetic flat region, disposed between two magnetic regions, two longitudinal faces facing each other, this parallelepiped, parallel to the aforementioned flat region, and being two faces facing each other s, respectively anterior and posterior, perpendicular to it; mechanization, in said parallelepiped, starting from the rear face, of a comb composed of teeth and a common base, made by a plurality of transverse incisions, arranged perpendicularly to said flat region; placement and fixation of other non-magnetic material in the incisions; mechanization, parallel to said flat region, starting from the posterior face, and perpendicular to the anterior incisions, of a longitudinal canal, whose depth is less than the depth of said incisions; machining of the front face, to perform the active face therein, by elimination of matter and polish, said elimination comprising that of the aforementioned common base, thus exposing, on the previous face, the other non-magnetic material of the incisions; fixing, on the rear face, a plurality of armors provided with windings, respectively facing the active front faces.
