Abstract
Proceso de tratamiento de material celulósico de plantas para incrementar su digestibilidad por parte de los animales que consiste en: dividir el material celulósico de plantas en partículas; mezclar el material celulósico dividido con agua para humectarlo completamente; mezclar ácido nítrico con el material celulósico húmedo para reducir el pH de la mezcla a 0,5-3,5; y cocer la mezcla entre 7,03 y 8,78 75kgs/cm2 aproximadamente de presión de vapor durante 30 a 60 minutos aproximadamente para romper los enlaces de lignina-celulosa y convertir al menos una porción de la celulosa para su uso como material digestible apropiado para la alimentación de los animales.
