Abstract

A new solar heat collector causes less sealing difficulties because it does not require a very high vacuum which can be restored by applying a water jet ejector for a few minutes every month. It can be produced at low cost, yet has a reasonable efficiency. The rectangular frame, made of channels, which carries the absorbers in insulating pads has connections for the absorbers and for a subsequent evacuation. The transparent cover panel and the bottom plate are sealed against the frame flanges by an adhesive. Support pins (metal tubes or ceramic rods) connect the cover panel to the bottom plate to prevent a collapse of the collector cell.
