Abstract

Un procedimiento para aplicar un revestimiento protector de un material polímero a un sustrato metálico, que comprende las etapas de conectar el sustrato como cátodo mientras que está sumergido en un baño de una composición polímera acuosa, conectar un ánodo como un contra-electrodo en dicho baño, hacer pasar corriente eléctrica entre dichos ánodo y cátodo para electro-depositar así el material polímero sobre dicho sustrato, comprendiendo dicha composición polímera una composición diluible con agua obtenida por las etapas de epoxidar parcialmente un polidieno líquido seleccionado del grupo constituido por homopolímeros de un dieno conjugado 1,4 y copolímeros que comprenden una proporción principal en peso de un dieno conjugado 1,4 una proporción menor de un monómero copolimerizable con el, teniendo el polidieno líquido un peso molecular tal que la capa depositada catódicamente de material polímero no tienda sustancialmente a correrse de una superficie vertical, someter a aminación el polidieno epoxidado a una temperatura de al menos 120ºC con al menos una amina que contiene no más de un grupo amino primario para proporcionar un polímero epoxidado aminado líquido no gelificado que contiene al menos un miliequivalente de grupos amino combinados por gramo de dicho polímero aminado líquido, y después de ello neutralizar al menos parcialmente el material polímero aminado con acido pra producir un material diluible con agua que contiene insaturación residual en la cadena de polímero, y someter el material polimero electro-depositado a reticulación oxidante por reacción de la insaturación residual en la cadena del polímero con oxigeno atmosférico a temperatura alta
