Abstract
A process for the preparation of solid sodium amoxycillin, useful for parenteral administration with greater purity and improved stability and with a maximum content in water of 3% by weight and organic solvent of 1.5% by weight, whose process comprises: a) suspending amoxicillin trihydrate in a mixture of water and isopropanol; b) adding to the suspension of the previous step a base dissolved in the suitable solvent, selected from the group consisting of sodium hydroxide/water and sodium isopropoxide/isopropanol, in a sufficient proportion to effect a complete dissolution; c) cooling the solution from the previous stage to a temperature comprised between 5 and -10º c; d) subjecting the solution from the previous stage to a spray drying process, to obtain a solid with a low content of impurities and with the maximum amount of water and isopropanol mentioned above.
