Abstract

Procedimiento para la obtención de una composición que contiene tricloruro de titanio, caracterizado porque comprende: 1) reducir tetracloruro de titanio con un agente reductor bajo condiciones que den tricloruro de titanio como producto que incluye un compuesto de aluminio asociado que contiene aluminio y átomos de cloro, donde el tricloruro de titanio se forma predominantemente en la forma beta; 2) poner en contacto el producto de la reducción con compuesto E y compuesto L bien simultáneamente o en secuencia, efectuándose al menos parte del contacto a una temperatura de al menos 60ºC en presencia de al menos un compuesto E ó compuesto L; y 3) subsecuentemente al contacto con el compuesto E lavar el producto obtenido con un hidrocarburo inerte o un líquido hidrocarburo inerte; donde E es un éter o un tioéter; y L es una base de Lewis que contiene fósforo orgánico.
