Abstract

Procedimiento y aparato para el almacenamiento de combustible nuclear; en un bastidor de almacenamiento que posee una pluralidad de aberturas rectangulares verticales con un tabique en común entre las aberturas, dispuesto dentro de un depósito de agua; caracterizados por la colocación inicial de los conjuntos de combustible en una disposición en forma de un tablero a modo de juego de damas hasta que sea alcanzada aproximadamente la capacidad del bastidor en esta forma del tablero de damas; introduciéndose las placas en las aberturas paralelamente y distanciadas de los laterales adyacentes de las respectivas aberturas, por lo que se forma una zanja o estrangulamiento de agua entre las mismas y un espacio de almacenamiento de combustible por la trampa de flujo entre las placas y los laterales opuestos de las aberturas, almacenándose a continuación combustible dentro de los mencionados espacios de almacenamiento por trampa de flujo de tal enriquecimiento que el total de la masa es subcrítico,teniendo en cuenta los tabiques en común, las placas y la zanja o estrangulamiento de agua.
