Abstract
In a multiple effect desalination apparatus as described and claimed in U.K. Specification 1396074, the adoption of a vertical preheater 5 for preheating the saline solution, instead of horizontal preheaters, affords considerable savings of costly construction materials such as cupro- nickel alloys, facilitates the assembly and dismantling of tube bundles, and permits a saving in electric power consumption in use.
