Abstract
1.Un procedimiento para reducir la mena metálica en partículas a partículas de metal esponjoso en un reactor de lecho móvil de túnel vertical que tiene una zona de reducción en la porción superior del mismo en donde un gas reductor caliente compuesto principalmente de monóxido de carbono e hidrógeno se hace fluir a través de una porción de lecho para reducir la mena metálica del mismo a metal, y una zona de enfriamiento en la porción inferior del reactor para enfriar el metal, caracterizado por hacer circular el gas reductor en un circuito que consta de dicha zona de reducción y un conducto externo que interconecta la parte superior y la parte inferior de la zona de reducción y que contiene un enfriador para deshidratar el gas que afluye desde la zona de reducción, suministrar gas reductor nuevo desde una fuente de gas exterior al circuito hasta un punto en el circuito entre el enfriador y el reactor, y añadir vapor al gas reductor en la porción superior de la zona de reducción para reducirel contenido de monóxido de carbono del gas que afluye desde la zona de reducción y de esta manera disminuir la cantidad de carburación en la zona de reducción.
