Abstract
Pneumatic tyres made from elastic material with no reinforcements other than bead wires are constructed to substantially reduce or eliminate circumferential deformation at the top of the tyre by adopting a meridian profile of the inner wall, for at least that part of the tyre located radially outside the points E, in accordance with the equation < IMAGE > in which: ' rho m' is the radius of the meridian curvature of a point (A) on the innerwall of the tyre, 'y' is the distance of the point A from the axis of rotation of the tyre measured parallel to the equatorial plane of the tyre, 'Re' is the distance of the point (E) of the inner wall, which is at a maximum distance from the equatorial plane, from the axis of rotation of the tyre measured parallel to the equatorial plane, ' phi ' is the angle formed by a tangent to the inner wall at point A with a line passing through point A parallel to the axis of rotation of the tyre.
