Abstract

A diaphragm friction clutch comprises a unitary subassembly in which a diaphragm spring (11) is rockably mounted on a cover member (10) by means of lugs or clips (14). Each lug or clip has an axial portion extending from the cover member (10) through passages (21) in the diaphragm spring (11) between its radial fingers (19), and a radially bent end portion (25) effectively bearing against the diaphragm spring. In the medium zone of the bending zone (32) defined between the axial portion and the radially bent portion is a hole (33) which may be transversely elongated for precisely determining the location of the actual bending zone.
