Abstract
Un procedimiento continuo en fase vapor mejorado para la fabricación de metilmercaptano que incluye alimentar reactivos constituidos por un óxido de carbono, sulfuro de hidrógeno o azufre elemental, e hidrógeno a una reactor y someter dichos reactivos a condiciones de reacción y someter dichos reactivos a condiciones de reacción que incluyen temperatura y presión elevadas en presencia de un catalizador de hidrogenación para producir metilmercaptano, en el que la mejora comprende A) mezclar: (1) un óxido, sulfuro, hidróxido o sal de un metal o metales seleccionados del grupo constituido por hierro, níquel , zinc, cromo cobalto y molibdeno, con (2) al menos un compuesto seleccionado del grupo constituido por (a) una base de amina orgánica que se selecciona de entre aminas alifáticas ciclo alifáticas, heterocíclicas saturadas, y aromáticas que tienen más de 6 átomos de carbono en cada radical alifático, ciclo alifático o aromático, o (b) una base inorgánica de metal alcalino seleccionada del grupo de bases de metales alcalinos constituido por óxidos , hidróxidos, sulfuros o sales para proporcionar una mezcla y después, b) sulfurar al menos parcialmente la mezcla de A por calentamiento de la mezcla en presencia de sulfuro de hidrógeno o azufre elemental con la condición de que la etapa B es opcional cuando se utiliza un sulfuro metálico en ambas etapas A(1) y A(2) (b); a fin de proporcionar conversiones mejoradas con tiempos de reacción más bajas, sin la formación de cantidades sustanciales de subproductos indeseables.
