Abstract

Procedimiento para el clivaje de un bloque de material en hojas, por ejemplo esquistos del tipo de pizarra, que presentan planos de clivaje privilegiados, según el cual se establece, en un plano de clivaje elegido, y por cualquier medio apropiado, una ranura que se extiende sobre una cierta longitud, y a continuación se someten las paredes de la ranura a una fuerza que tiende a separarlas para provocar la propagación de una fisura a lo largo del plano de clivaje, caracterizado porque se utiliza como medio de propagación de la fisura un chorro de fluido animado de una velocidad de translación elevada, que está orientado en el sentido del plano de clivaje, perpendicularmente a la ranura, de tal manera que la presión debida a la energía cinética del fluido proyectado siga el frente de propagación de la fisura.
