Procedimiento para la obtención de amidas de ácido hidroxicarboxílico de cianhidrinas por adición catalítica de agua, caracterizado porque la adición de agua se efectúa en un medio de reacción acuoso que contenga entre un 10 y 60% en peso del compuesto oxo en que se basa la cianhidrina, en presencia de un catalizador disuelto en la mezcla de reacción, compuesto de compuestos de boro oxigenados, a un pH de 7 hasta 11
