Abstract
The automatic centrifugal clutch may be used on motorcycles, using a roller (5) to ramp (21) contact to augment the centrifugal forces in proportion to the input torque. A flanged disc (2) is keyed onto the input shaft (1), its hub locating a freely rotatable flanged (7) sleeve, and its intermediate circumference locating axial transmission rollers (5) on stub axles. A flange (7) locates the terminal axles (17) of recoil sprung arched inertia block levers (12). Rollers (5) contact levers (12) to effect flange (7) and lever (12) rotation, and centrifugal forces push brake linings (23) onto an output drum (22) bore. The rollers (5) move lever (12) edge ramps (21) to furnish the additional radial forces.
