Abstract

The space between the rails is covered by a concrete, or similar support slab lying on the rail feet and laterally supported against the wells of the two rails (1). The slab (2) is braced by a draw bar (22) with a turnbuckle (23). There are side plates (11) supported against the outsides of the rails. Tension-transfer elements can be provided, in the form of lengthways-aligned vertical plates (18) on both sides of the track, with bases (17) supported against foundation units (16) below the ballast. The top ends (19) urge the side plates towards the centre and have the draw bars (22) attached to them. This ensures correct positioning of the support slab between the rails, with no distorting forces acting on the rails.
