Abstract
Un método para controlar la temperatura de una masa fundida de acero al carbono o acero de baja aleación durante la refinación neumática subsuperficial, caracterizado porque se agrega a la masa fundida un elemento de rápida oxidación antes de comenzar la inyección de oxígeno, siendo tal la cantidad de elemento de rápida oxidación agregado que la cantidad total es suficiente, cuando es oxidada, para elevar la temperatura de la masa fundida hasta la temperatura deseada antes de comenzar una descarburación sustancial, y siendo tal la cantidad de elemento de lenta oxidación agregada que la cantidad total es suficiente, cuando es oxidada, para mantener la temperatura de la masa fundida dentro del margen de temperatura deseado durante la descarburación, por lo cual la temperatura de la masa fundida al finalizar el período de refinación es por lo menos igual a la temperatura de colada deseada.
