Abstract

A permanently magnetized adhesive is disclosed which preferably comprises a synthetic resin material having a permanently magnetized substance e.g. BaFe12O19 dispersed therein to give the adhesive a substantially permanent, net magnetic field both before and after application and use thereof. The adhesive may be a self-sustaining strip which flows on heating thus allowing it to be magnetically "pulled" into a metallic joint to which it is applied. An elongated strip of the adhesive may be permanently magnetized.
