Abstract

Procedimiento para preparar poliéteres aromáticos, conteniendo enlaces -S02- y/o -CO-, caracterizado porque comprende calentar (i) una mezcla sustancialmente equimolar de (a) al menos un bisfenol y (b) al menos un compuesto dihalobencenoide o (ii) al menos un halofenol, en donde los átomos de halógeno del compuesto dihalobenoenoide o del halofenol están activados por grupos -S02- o -CO- en posición orto o para con respecto a los mismos, con al menos un carbonato o bicarbonato de metal alcalino, para efectuar una reacción de policondensación para formar el poliéter aromático, siendo tal la cantidad de carbonato o bicarbonato que exista al menos un átomo de metal, alcalino por cada grupo fenol presente y efectuándose la reacción de policondensación en ausencia de un disolvente y en presencia de una cantidad suficiente de una sustancia soporte particulada infusible (bajo las condicionas de reacción) para el poliéter, con el fin de obtener un medio de reacción en forma de un polvo de libre fluencia al final de la reacción de policondensación.
