Abstract

The valve includes a fixed plate (2) through which passages (20) are formed and a moving plate (3) through ed which passages (30) are formed. The moving plate is disposed downstream from the fixed plate and is connected thereto by means (6) which allow it to move a short distance between an open position in which the ends of the passages of each of the plates are uncovered to allow the liquid to pass from the upstream side to the downstream side, and a closed position with the plates in contact with each other and in which the passages of each plate are stopped by the solid parts of the other preventing the liquid from flowing from the downstream side to the upstream side. In the open position, the flow axis of each fixed plate passage (20) coincides substantially with the flow axis of the associated passage (30) of the moving plate (3), thereby directing and centring the streams of liquid flowing through the fixed plate into the passages in the moving plate.
