Abstract

A clothes washing machine has a tub (6) arranged to contain a rotary washing drum and to which is fixed a crossbar assembly, the crossbar assembly (9) comprising a plurality of radial arms (10) and being arranged to support rotatably a drive shaft for the drum, the free end of each of the arms of the crossbar assembly is fixed to the tub by means of angle brackets (26) welded both to the peripheral casing and to the end wall of the tub, and provided with an opening into which engages a bolt (23) co-operating with a respective nut for anchoring the end of the respective arm of the crossbar assembly. Each of the bolts also forms an attachment means for removable means for securing the tub to the casing (5) of the machine for immobilising the tub during transportation.
