Abstract

1. A wheel assembly for heavy goods rail vehicles, with four movably mounted bogies rotatable by 90 degrees fitted with two running wheel pairs each, on the support frame of which the running wheel axles are mounted, characterised in that each bogie is equipped with a drive means (7) and that the support frame (2) is disposed at right angles to the running wheel axles (3) centrally between the runner wheels (4), and that each running wheel axle (3) associated with the support frame (2) has a central mount (5) which allows an oscillating motion of the running wheel pair in the vertical plane, whilst in the horizontal plane the motion is narrowly limited between sliding surfaces (12).
