Abstract

1. A thermally insulated, ventilated roof with a pitch >=10 degrees, which comprises a carrier structure (2), a thermal insulation (3), a surface-water-repellant foil (7), a roof covering sub-structure (10; 8+9), a roof covering (11) and a soft layer (6) which is made of an open-pored, rot-proof, thermally insulating material and which adjoins the thermal insulation (3), characterised in that the space between the thermal insulation (3) and carrier structure (2) and the foil (7) is filled with the soft material layer (6), and that the thickness of the material layer (6) is designed in dependence upon predetermined climatic conditions and two-way water vapour diffusion in the event of the possible precipitation of water to at least completely compensate the water balance on an annual average.
