PROCEDIMIENTO PARA LA OBTENCION DE UN PRODUCTO ANTIBIOTICO Y UNA SAL DE ADICION FARMACEUTICAMENTE ACEPTABLE. CONSISTENTE EN EL CULTIVO DE UNA RAZA DE ACTINOMICETOS EN UN MEDIO LIQUIDO ACUOSO QUE CONTIENE FUENTES ASIMILABLES DE CARBONO Y NITROGENO EN CONDICIONES AEROBICAS DURANTE UN PERIODO DE TIEMPO SUFICIENTE PARA PRODUCIR Y ACUMULAR EN DICHO MEDIO DE CULTIVO LA SUSTANCIA ANTIBIOTICA DESEADA; FINALMENTE SE RECUPERA LA SUSTANCIA ANTIBIOTICA DEL MEDIO DE CULTIVO. SU HIDROCLORURO ES UN POLVO INCOLORO Y AMORFO, ESENCIALMENTE ESTABLE EN CONDICIONES DE PH NEUTRAS O ACIDICAS, PERO INESTABLE EN CONDICIONES ALCALINAS. ESTOS ANTIBITICOS PRESENTAN ACTIVIDAD CONTRA BACTERIAS GRAM-NEGATIVAS Y GRAM-POSITIVAS.
