Abstract

Substituted 6-aryl-4H-s-triazolo[3,4-c]thieno[2,3-e]-1,4-diazepines of the formula < IMAGE > in which the meaning of the symbols is mentioned in Claim 1, are obtained by reacting a dihalide of the general formula < IMAGE > with hydroxylamine and either converting a hydroxylamine compound of the formula < IMAGE > thus obtained into the final product either with a dehydrating agent or converting with a oxidising or dehydrogenating agent to the corresponding N-oxide of the formula < IMAGE > and converting this into a corresponding 5,6-dehydro compound I and optionally subsequently converting into a physiologically acceptable acid addition salt. The process is simple, inexpensive and environmentally friendly.
