CONSISTE EN LA SAPONIFICACION DE UN ACIDO CARBOXILICO ORGANICO, SUS ESTERES O MEZCLAS DE LOS MISMOS CON UNA DISOLUCION ACUOSA CONCENTRADA DE UN HIDROXIDO DE METAL ALCALINO, EN PRESENCIA DE UNA SAL INORGANICA, TAL COMO SULFATO, CLORURO O TRIPOLIFOSFATO SODICOS, EN UN MEDIO QUE CONTIENE ACETONA, SEGUIDA DE LA SEPARACION DE LAS SALES ORGANICAS DE LA MEZCLA DE REACCION Y ELIMINACION DEL EXCESO DE ACETONA DE LA SAL ORGANICA. TIENE APLICACION EN LA FABRICACION DE JABONES Y GRASAS LUBRICANTES.
