SE HACE PASAR UNA RADIACION ULTRAVIOLETA, PROCEDENTE DE UNA FUENTE (1), POR UN RETICULO DE DIFRACCION (2) QUE LA DIFRACTA EN UN HAZ DE ACUERDO CON LAS LONGITUDES DE ONDA QUE VAN A SER ABSORBIDAS POR UNO O VARIOS DE LOS COMPONENTES A ANALIZAR. DICHA RADIACION SE FILTRA EN FILTROS DE RENDIJA (3) QUE MANIFIESTAN SUS EFECTOS SOBRE FOTOSENSORES (4). LAS SEÑALES SE CONFORMAN Y COMPARAN CON PARAMETROS CONOCIDOS EN UN CONFORMADOR DE SEÑAL (5) Y SE HACEN PASAR POR UN DECODIFICADOR (6). EN LA UNIDAD (7) SE AMPLIFICAN DICHAS SEÑALES Y POR CALIBRADO INICIAL SE OBTIENEN LOS VALORES EN MUESTRAS CONOCIDAS.
