SOBRE UNA TORRETA O ESTRUCTURA VERTICAL VA MONTADA UNA HELICE; UNA PLATAFORMA HORIZONTAL GIRATORIA EN SU PLANO; UNA CORONA FIJA PARALELA A LA PLATAFORMA Y SITUADA INMEDIATAMENTE DEBAJO DE LA MISMA; UN EJE VERTICAL RELACIONADO CON LA PLATAFORMA, GIRATORIO RESPECTO A LA MISMA Y PORTADOR DE UN PIÑON QUE ENGRANA CON LA CORONA; Y UN MECANISMO DE ORIENTACION; CAPAZ DE IMPRIMIR AL EJE UN GIRO PARCIAL EN UNO U OTRO SENTIDO, CON EL FIN DE ORIENTAR LA PLATAFORMA PARA SITUAR LA HELICE EN SENTIDO OPUESTO AL DEL VIENTO. SOBRE LA PLATAFORMA VA MONTADA LA HELICE, UN ALTERNADOR, UNA CAJA MULTIPLICADORA A TRAVES DE LA CUAL EL EJE ACCIONA EL ALTERNADOR Y UN MECANISMO DE FRENO PARA EL EJE.
