Abstract
EP--59515 A The upright or sloping dam cores of bitumen and/or plastics and/or a natural binder are placed in a constant or upward-tapering thickness. The core material is placed from a silo (2) on a travelling machine. Transitional material is at the same time placed against the core material from the machine silos (5). - The dam core is formed with the aid of a sliding formwork, which gives lateral support while the transitional material is placed. The core material is pre-compacted (4) vertically and laterally before the transitional material is placed. Subsequently both core and transitional material are further compacted (9). The core material is placed from a silo of a travelling machine and at the same time transitional material is placed, from one or more silos of that machine, alongside and against the placed core material. - The dam core is formed with the aid of a sliding formwork located on the machine to give lateral support to the core until while the transitional material is placed. The core material, immediately after it has been placed and before the transitional material is placed, is pre-compacted both vertically and laterally.
