Abstract
The process comprises prodn. of 6-cyclohexyl 1-hydroxy-4-methyl-2-(IH) pyridone through cyclisation of chlorohydrate of chloride of 5-amino-5-cyclohexyl- 3-methyl-2-pentenoyl point, at 50-130 deg.C for 5-15 hrs.. The reaction product of formula (I) is treated with ethanol amine in solvent such as ethyl acetate at 30-76 deg.C, giving 6-cyclohexyl-1-hydroxy- 4-methyl-2-(IH) pyridone ethanolamine salt of formula (II).S The agent is also a protozoa growth inhibitor.
