SE EMPLEA UNA PLACA CROMATOGRAFICA IMPREGNADA CON UNA SAL DE VANADIO, QUE SE PREPARA EXPONIENDO EL MATERIAL ABSORBENTE, GEL DE SILICE, SOPORTADO POR FIBRA DE VIDRIO, A UNA SOLUCION DE SAL DE VANADIO, DURANTE VARIOS SEGUNDOS. PUEDEN EMPLEARSEVARIAS SALES DE VANADIO SOLUBLES EN AGUA, TALES COMO EL PENTOXIDO DE VANADIO, V2O5, EL SULFATO DE VANADILO VOSO, Y EL METAVANADATO DE AMONIO, NH4VO3.
