Abstract

The subject of the invention are means enabling a rail vehicle 1 to be fitted to a track of a different gauge, in particular a narrower gauge, by replacing each mounted axle of the vehicle by a bogie 8. The latter comprises a framework 12 bearing two mounted axles 9 and articulated centrally to a transverse beam 10 which is fixed to the suspension springs 5 of the substituted axle exactly in the same manner as the roller-bearing boxes of the latter. The bogie 8 is provided with a braking system which is automatically coupled to the brake shoes 7 of the vehicle 1 via counter-shoes 26.
