CONSISTE EN REGULAR EL DESPLAZAMIENTO DEL RASCADOR MEDIANTE EL EXTREMO ANTERIOR DE UNA BANDA FLEXIBLE DE PESO ESPECIFICO INFERIOR AL MERCURIO QUE SE EMPUJA EN LA PELICULA DE MERCURIO PARALELO AL SUELO Y SE DESLIZA SOBRE LA CARA INFERIOR DE LOS ANODOS DE LA CUBA Y SE DESPLAZA DESDE EL EXTREMO AGUAS ABAJO HACIA EL EXTREMO AGUAS ARRIBA DE LA CUBA CON RESPECTO AL SENTIDO DEL FLUJO DE LA PELICULA DE MERCURIO PARA QUE QUEDE PERMANENTE UNA PELICULA RESIDUAL DE MERCURIO GRUESO DE ESPESOR ENTRE 015 Y 15 MM Y QUE SE ADHIERA AL SUELO.
