Abstract

Disclosed is a method of shared channel assignment and downlink packet scheduling. The method for the present invention combines features of both interactive and background traffics to provide a method for scheduling that can effectively uses channel resources, and can be easily applied in downlink shared channel of wireless communication. The present invention calculates the transmission capability of each shared channel and determines the assigned interactive and background connection and further periodically performs scheduling of all interactive connections based on the transmission rate of each interactive connection so as to secure the desired transmission rate for each interactive connection. The background connection is used to transmit data through unused bandwidth of the channel so as to effectively exploit the channel resources.
