It is known to use piassava-type brushes to remove dry contaminants such as snow, sand, soil, glass shards and the like from sidewalks and machine shop floors. It is also known to use the aforementioned brushes or scrapers, which are sheet metal or rubber-coated sheet metal, to remove wet contaminants such as manure from the floors of barns and pig farms.

The aforementioned piassava-type brushes, however, commonly incorrectly referred to as piassava currency, comprise a flat, rectangular bristle wood to which piassava bristle bundles are attached. When the brush is used to remove wet contaminants, the stem absorbs these through the end of the stem and soon rots, as does the brush wood surrounding the stem hole. This often happens before the bristles are worn out, which is why both the brush and the shaft must be discarded prematurely.

There is also no means of combining the above-mentioned cleaning elements per se, but where these have had to be used alternately, two or three different means have had to be kept on hand.

The present invention relates to a device which in itself includes the above-mentioned elements and functions, and in which the brush does not have to be discarded until its bristles have worn out and can be easily replaced.

The device according to the invention has the shape and the features which appear from the appended claims.

The invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawing, in which:

The arm 1 is preferably provided at its lower end with a circular flange 3 fixedly connected thereto so that the angle between the arm 1 and the flange 3 is the same as that formed by the arm hole of the bristle brush 4 with the upper surface of the brush tree 4. The side of the flange 3 facing away from the arm 1 is provided with a pin 5 which starts from the center of the flange in the opposite direction to the arm 1 and which, by its position and dimension, can be inserted into the above-mentioned arm hole so as to protrude below the bristle tree 4. The protruding part of the pin 5 is provided with an axial slot adapted to receive a wedge 6 which can fasten the brush wood 4 firmly against the lower surface of the flange 3. The side of the wedge 6 opposite the bristle wood 4 is preferably provided with sawtooth-shaped teeth 13 which, when the wedge 6 is inserted, engage the bristle wood 4 and prevent the wedge 6 from coming loose and pounding away. The pin 3 is provided with at least one and preferably two wedge-shaped, sharp-edged radial projections 13, which are firmly attached to the flange 3 at their upper end and are preferably diametrically arranged. The projections 13 are preferably in the shape of a rectangular triangle in the radial longitudinal section and cut when the wedge is inserted into the edges of the hole in the bristle wood 4 so that the bristles cannot bend with respect to the flange 3.

It has proved advantageous to place a rectangular sheet metal plate 7 with a projection between the flange 3 and the bristle wood 4.

Claims (8)

A device for clearing dry and wet contaminants, preferably from gangways, workshop and livestock floors, comprising a shaft (1) and a brush (2), preferably of the piassava type, the shaft (1) or a coaxial separate holder thereof. is provided with a flange (3), whose flat underside with the longitudinal axis of the shank (1) forms an angle which corresponds to the angle formed by the flat top of the brushwood (4) with a shank heel placed in the wood (4). The flange (3) on its underside is provided with a coaxial pin (5) with the shank (1), which is arranged and dimensioned to be able to be applied through the shaft heel of the brushwood (4) and whose protruding underside of the brushwood (4) is provided with an axial, diametrical slot (18), arranged to be capable of receiving a wedge (6) arranged to be able to fix the brushwood (4) abutting the underside of the flange (3), characterized in that between the flange (3) and the upper surface of the brushwood (4) is arranged substantially uniform with said upper surface eat (7), on which plate (7) the longitudinal edge which faces the blunt angle of the shaft (1) with the brushwood (4) protrudes outside the brushwood (4), and is provided with a heel of the brushwood (4) and having at least one heel of said plate (7), V-shaped recess, the edges of which diverge towards this heel, and that at least one wedge-shaped projection (13), which is connected to both the flange (3) and the pin (5), is so arranged and dimensioned that it adjoins the flange (3) with minimal penetration in the recess of the plate (7).
