Abstract

Tyre is provided with a radical tyre body reinforcement, a thread, and a breaker being provided with a strip of cord fabric of metallic material enclosed between two springs of cord fabric of textile material, each strip being folded to form to layers, and the ends of one strip crossing those of the other strip or strips. The strip of textile material is folded so that the two folded layers have serfective widths between 75% and 95% and between 20% and 40% of the width of the breaker, while the strip of metallic material has a width between 75% and 95%, the width and position of the strips being selected so that going from the outside towards the lengthwise central plane of the breaker, the fold of the inner strip of textile material, the edge of the strip of metallic material, and the edge of the folded layer of the outer textile strip are staggered at the one end of the breaker and the edge of the strip of metallic material, the fold of the outer textile strip and the edge of the folded layer of inner textile material being also staggered at the other edge of the breaker.
