Abstract

The preparations contain ca 0.03-4 wt.% pyrocatecholamine (esp epinephrine) ca 0.05-4 wt.% boric acid, ca 0.05-3 wt.% ascorbic acid and ca 0.05-3 wt.% of a water-soluble pharmacologically tolerable thiol cpd of the formula HS-CHR1-COOR, HS-CHR2-CHR3-CO-R4, R5-CO-SH or HSCH2(CHOH)xCH2OH (where R and R5 are H or 1-4C alkyl, R1 is H, 1-3C alkyl or group HS-CH-COOR' in which R' is H or 1-4C alkyl, R2 is H or 1-3C alkyl, R3 is amino, acetamido or propionamido, R4 is OH, 1-3C alkoxy, NH2 or methyl-ethyl- or propylamino and x is 1-6). The preparations (which are particularly intended for treating open-angle glaucoma) have improved stability against oxidation.
