Abstract

The expanded perlite granules are enveloped by the nutritive medium which pref. consists of crushed cereals or bran opt. cooked in water. The incubation period is pref. 18-30 days and the temp. is pref. 20-27 degrees C. The water content of the substrate is pref. 45-65% and esp. 54-62%. Vitamins esp. nicotamide may also be incorporated. The expanded perlite does not tend to disintegrate under the effects of high temp. sterilisation or of high moisture content.
