Abstract

Hose made of flexible material, pref. butyl rubber, with integral webs or tongues at intervals tangential to the hose wall for accepting fastenings such as nails. The tube may be extruded as a webbed profile from which segments may be cut or as an '8' section profile which may be slit along one section and folded and cut prior to vulcanisation (microwave) to form tongued tubing. Combines flexibility, light weight and integral anchorage webs for ease to installation compared with metal or rigid plastic pipes. Hose has good water and chemical resistance, will expand to accommodate ice formation and dampen acoustic or hydraulic vibrations.
