Abstract

Flexible hose has inner and outer elastomeric carcass portions with reinforcing yarns embedded between. The reinforcing comprises two separate layers each comprising laterally spaced sets of glass fibre yarns, each set extending spirally about the hose, with the lay of one set opposite the lay of the other set of yarns. The reinforcing layers are spaced by an intermediate carcass layer of elastomeric material. Preferably the sets of glass fibre yarns have a number of locating rayon yarns in crossing, braided, relation with the glass fibre yarns.
