Abstract
Emulsions have gradation accentuated by using grafted polymers based on polyethylene glycol M. W. 1000 - 4000 and vinyl acetate and/or acrylic acid. The polymer is used at 0.5 - 0.9 g per kg. emulsion and/or 0.2 - 2 g per litre of developer. Preferred polymers are those containing 25 - 75% vinyl acetate/acrylic acid mixture and polymers containing 0 - 67.5% vinyl acetate. Used in reprography. The agents have improved properties in that they act during prolonged development and have good solubility particularly in concentrated developer solutions.
